A Strategic Partnership with Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society- MVP Program
PIFS athletes will be trained as community champions for the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Program. This nationally acclaimed program motivates athletes and leaders to play a central role in solving gender based violence issues that have continue to be considered 'women's issues' and that all too easily finds their way into our sport culture.
As program champions, our athletes will "Play Forward" their leadership skills by being role models in workshops aimed at educating participants on the importance of proactive and preventative behavior with a positive call to action. Utilizing MVP's innovate bystander approach to prevention, participants are taught to take back the power of situations involving violence and not be constrained by the stigmas often felt by bystanders.
